My year in crafts

For the last five years making crafts has been a full time occupation- barely a day has passed without me being creative in some way…… Those words are the first in my new book A year in crafts that came out in October and they couldn’t be more true about this year. In January I was in full swing, designing projects and shooting with the amazingly talented Jo Henderson. We shot in some lovely places including The Battery in Whitstable, one of my favourite location houses, right on the beach along the Kent coast. I went straight from completing this book to starting a new one for Cico; 35 mobiles and hanging decorations, which is out in the spring, [more of that at a later date] I have snipped, folded, sewn and glued my way through the seasons and feel very lucky to have a job that I can sit and make things all day long. With so many projects to complete, I have discovered new materials to work with, extended my crafting skills, and learnt new techniques. Of course the year is not over yet, so there are plenty more crafting opportunities and  I haven’t started designing my Christmas card yet!

These are some of my favourite pictures from the book.
